Sons of the Golden West is the moniker used by Eric Butterfield, a
singer/songwriter in Northern California. Employing the nuanced textures of
indie rock and Americana, Eric writes songs that are personal yet universal
stories, with the American West as a backdrop.

Eric’s most recent singles reached the semi-finals in the 2017 International
Songwriting Competition (unsigned category), the 2018 Unsigned Only
music contest, and the 2018 Song of the Year competition.

As Sons of the Golden West, Eric released a six-song EP in 2016, “Oh,
California!” It received college radio airplay, including on “The Next Big
Thing” show on KALX at U.C. Berkeley.

Eric's music has appeared on more than 240 TV show episodes on major
networks, including NBC (Last Call With Carson Daly), CBS College
Sports, Bravo (Real Housewives of Atlanta), MTV (True), Animal Planet
(Last Chance Highway), Discovery (Porter Ridge), TLC (Return to Amish),
BBC America (No Kitchen Required), National Geographic Explorer (Brain
